Airport scanners abuse. Already.

How long have we had these things? Since December, is it?

And already we’re getting reports of the machines being abused by airport staff.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan made headlines over the weekend when he caught airport employees at Heathrow passing around printouts of his naked body, as revealed by full-body security scans. “I saw these girls — they had these printouts. I looked at them. I thought they were some forms you had to fill. I said ‘give them to me’ — and you could see everything inside,” he said on British television last Friday.

Is this the fastest discrediting of a “security” measure ever? I put 5/1 on a CD of the gonads of thousands being left on a plane by the end of the year.

Here’s more good news, not only are they open to abuse, there are some who say they’re potentially dangerous as well.

What a fabulous little scheme.

Edit: Oh, yeah, and they don’t fucking work.

Why not try this idea, have two identicle planes both bound for the same destination, passengers could then choose which plane to fly on.One plane the passengers would go through a scanner and the other plane passengers wouldnt have to go through a scanner, let me tell you that i would choose the scanner route every time no matter how long i was delayed because if someone gets on the plane with explosives then you are going to be delayed for ever

And here’s the fundamental difference: you made an informed free choice. Under the current system, that’s denied.

I also don’t see how you managed to jump from “I’d choose it given a free choice” to “it’s ok to coerce people into using these scanner”.
