Honestly, I am voiceless. The Shawshank Redemption is terrific. I'am a young movie fanatic, as a matter of fact, this film come out whenI was very young, and therefore I am to a greater extent accustomed movies with incredible special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This film has none of that, and yet, it appeals me very much . The way Frank Darabont uses the tale of Red to drive on the tale, the excellent the music utilized (note the mouth harp used merely earlier Red finding the letter at the end). The whole film, from starting to closing, from actions to music, is a beacon of hope, judgement, and repurchase. The cast is ideal, Morgan Freeman(Red) really brings about a fresh feel to the story, and that's exactly what the movie is, what a film should be. Really recommended for each viewer.

Or you can start on his opus:

The Dark Tower series. 7 books which took him 20 odd years to write. I read and re-read them often.

His other 'non-supernatural' stories are pretty good too - The Running Man, The Walk, etc. And of course, if you haven't already read it, the novella that 'Shawshank Redemption' was based on.

I thought it might be like that. If I had the time or the patience, I'd read it. But...

"The Midwich Cuckoos" begins with a similar premise, but goes in an interesting direction. "Ghost Story" is also very good.
