Christ, prohibition is retarded, ok? Get over it.

Once again, the effects of prohibition rear their ugly head.

Anthrax has been found in two heroin users from Glasgow – one of whom has died in hospital.

Of course we’re finding contaminated drugs on the black market. As trading the goods in question has been deemed to be unlawful, and mere possession of heroin getting you 7 years, any possible incentive for the “traders” (dealers) to keep their product as clean as possible is destroyed. Since prohibition forces the trade into the hands of those who have no problem breaking the law to begin with, they’re also going to be the same sort of people who have absolutely no concern about whether their product kills you or not.

Legalising the use and possession of drugs, along with a proper regulatory framework, is the only way to minimize harm from drugs. I don’t think I’m going too far in saying prohibition is the policy that maximizes drug harm.

I’m not trying to take away your right to use the word retarded. Just wondering why you would knowing the pain it causes in the special needs community. Certainly you haven’t been living under a rock that long not to know this.
