Isn’t party politics wonderful?

Ex-MP Helen Clarkimage

A former MP who had a conviction for harassment overturned on appeal is demanding her DNA, taken at her arrest, is removed from the national database.

Good, I guess. No one who is cleared of an offence should be obliged to give their DNA to the state.  But, I can’t help but feel she’s trying to eat her cake and have it too.

She has that voting record, yet is opposed to having her DNA on record? No doubt the whips got to her.

Ugh. Bad mental image there.

I had a look at the speeches she’d given and searched them for “DNA”. She seemed to me to be supporting giving the police the power to retain DNA in a speech to the House.

Funny that she’s so against it now, don’t you think?
